A Visual Strategic Plan to help shape the future of Downtown Thibodaux
Thibodaux Main Street hired a team of nationally-recognized professionals to conduct a three-day planning exercise called a “Downtown Roadmap.” This exercise took place on Monday-Wednesday, June 30th – July 2nd, 2025. The Downtown Roadmap served as a collaborative visual strategic planning effort focused on the future of downtown Thibodaux.
Throughout the process, the planning team created highly visual concepts, renderings, and graphic design materials with input from Thibodaux citizens, elected officials, business owners, and downtown stakeholders.
The Future of Downtown Thibodaux is Now!
From June 30th to July 2nd, a team of professionals worked alongside the community to develop ideas and recommendations that will help guide the future of downtown Thibodaux. During the three-day Downtown Roadmap process, community members had the opportunity to share feedback and participate in discussions about downtown’s future.
The planning team studied downtown’s economy, branding and marketing efforts, and physical environment to develop recommendations focused on enhancing what already makes downtown Thibodaux special. Concepts and ideas come to life in real time.
What Resulted from the Downtown Roadmap?
The Downtown Roadmap created a framework to help guide the future of downtown Thibodaux. The planning effort explored opportunities related to business recruitment and retention, branding and communication strategies, downtown aesthetics, functionality, and overall visitor experience.
The process also identified potential action steps, implementation priorities, and possible funding opportunities for future projects and improvements. This was an exciting and collaborative time for Thibodaux, and Thibodaux’s Main Street appreciates everyone who participated in the Town Hall meeting, presentations, and community discussions throughout the process.
